Ball Bearings

1. 1. Deep Groove Ball Bearings - Deep groove, or single row radial, ball bearings are the most widely used bearings in all general industries. They utilize an uninterrupted raceway that makes them optimal for radial loads.
2. 2. Angular Contact Ball Bearings –
   1. (a). Single row angular contact ball bearings feature raceways with high and low shoulders. These opposing raceways are designed to carry thrust load in one direction. RNG can preload the bearings at the factory so that the correct load will develop once the bearing is put into service. The bearings in this series are assembled with a specific internal clearance, so that they will have a specified contact angle under load.
   2. (b). Double row angular contact ball bearings have an inner and outer ring with a double raceway. The two rows are oriented so the contact angle is similar to a pair of back-to-back single row bearings.
3. 3. Insulated Ball Bearings - Electrical pitting often occurs in bearings used in electrical equipment, such as motors and power generators, as a result of current leakage. An electrical current present near a bearing can flow through the bearing, causing the current to arc between the rolling elements and the rolling surface. The arc created will elevate the temperature of the steel at the arc point and change the material structure of the steel, ultimately leading to bearing failure. This electrical pitting can be prevented with coated bearings or ceramic hybrid bearings.
4. 4. Specialty Ball Bearings - Double-row, self-aligning bearings utilize an inner ring with a single spherical raceway. In this configuration, the inner and outer rings can be misaligned relative to each other. The boundary dimensions of self-aligning bearings can be the same as standard ball bearings.

Roller Bearings

1. 1. Cylindrical Roller Bearings - We use premium steels and special heat treatments to extend life and increase reliability when applications require. Precise control of heat treatment, dimensions, and surface finish of the components further contribute to reliable bearing performance.
2. 2. Needle Roller Bearings - Needle bearings use small needle rollers (6mm or less in diameter) as rolling elements. These bearings feature a smaller cross-section, higher load-carrying capacity, greater rigidity, and lower inertia forces that facilitate size and weight reductions in machinery. They’re designed to withstand oscillation, perform under severe conditions, and interchange with sliding bearings.
3. 3. Tapered Roller Bearings - Tapered roller bearings are designed for the most demanding applications in industries such as mining, forestry and steel manufacturing. Utilizing conical rollers and raceways arranged so that the rollers and raceways meet at a common apex, RNG’s tapered roller bearing rollers are guided by contact between the large end of the roller, providing high capacity for radial and single thrust loads. With almost 100 million tapered roller bearings manufactured every year under the RNG brand, it’s no wonder that RNG rivals all major competitors on the market.
4. 4. Spherical Roller Bearings - Spherical roller bearings are dedicated to extremely severe applications and must support high loads, severe misalignment, contaminated environments, shocks, and vibrations. And with the industry’s highest load rating and production coming from a factory near you, there’s no reason to look anywhere else for spherical roller bearings.
